Math Fundamentals Review by Freedman, Jackson, Licata & Sparks, 3rd Edition, McGraw Hill, Inc., 2001 Course Description This course is designed for the college student who needs training in basic numerical processes with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions and percents, and their applications. (credits do not apply toward graduation requirements) Attendance Policy There are NO excused absences. A student is required to attend all class meetings. If a class is missed the student is held responsible for the full requirements of the class. MW classes -more than 4 class absences may result in a full grade reduction, TR classes -more than 4 class absences may result in a full grade reduction. Promptness is also required. If a student misses the final exam, he will NOT be allowed to take a make up exam unless there is a documented emergency. Missing the final exam will result in an automatic failure of the course. Grading Policy Grades will be based on 3-5 exams, quizzes, and a final exam. The final exam will consist of a departmental exam. The final exam will count 25% - 50% of the final course grade. A minimum competency in math fundamentals is necessary to pass the course. There are no make up quizzes. An average of "D" is necessary to pass the course. A 90 - 100 |
